Shoebox, an Israel–Canada-based company specializing in hearing assessment solutions, was facing growing usability issues in one of its core digital products. Over time, as new features were layered onto the platform, the experience became inconsistent — both in terms of visual design and user flow. Clients and internal stakeholders flagged several screens as confusing, unintuitive, and visually outdated.
As the product continued to scale, it became clear that the platform needed a more cohesive structure, simplified interactions, and a refreshed interface that aligned with modern UX/UI standards.
I was brought in to lead the UX/UI effort to streamline the experience, modernize the design, and bring clarity and coherence to the platform.
We started by examining the current product experience and collecting feedback from users and stakeholders. Through surveys, informal interviews, and cross-functional discussions, we gathered insights into the friction users encountered across the platform — from unclear navigation to inconsistent interface behavior.
These insights revealed the need to restructure core flows and reduce cognitive load. I collaborated closely with the product team to re-map user journeys and identify opportunities to streamline tasks and eliminate redundancies.
This iterative research process helped shape a clear direction rooted in user behavior, real-world usage, and business priorities.
I led a full redesign of the interface — rethinking screen layouts, simplifying interactions, and unifying visual language to support a smoother and more intuitive experience. Key features were reorganized based on usage patterns, while new design components were introduced to improve clarity and usability across devices.
The updated UI embraced a modern, accessible visual style that aligned with both user expectations and the brand’s evolving identity. We conducted usability testing throughout the process, using feedback to fine-tune flows and ensure the redesign effectively addressed the original pain points.
The result was a cleaner, more cohesive product that empowered users to navigate confidently, complete tasks efficiently, and feel supported by a thoughtful, professional interface.
